first let me say i am sorry that you and dh went through to replacements on you new car! second what kind of car do you have? i never heard of that before if your car does not warm up that the windshield will crack because it is a heated windshield! what is that guy smoking who said that to you?  i hope he did replace it for you with no extracharge!

you're right - 2 replacements in 1 year IS crazy!
I would look into getting glass coverage w/ your insurance---it's usually just a couple bucks more, and it's soooo worth it!
I crack my windshield after EVERY winter- it never fails. Some stupid rock ALWAYS shoots up off the parkway, right into my window...I don't pay a dime for the replacement.

Remember...this exact thing happened to me with the Jaguar...we wound up just paying to get it replaced for the second time so I could sell the car....
