Re: On Becoming Baby Wise - controversial approach?
I think that the contraversy has to do primarily with scheduled feedings for newborns -- there were some parents who malnurished their children because they followed the book too closely and it wasn't working for them. Like most books, I think it has some good tips, but you've got to apply your own interpretation and adapt it to fit your family. And use common sense to see if it isn't working. No one approach works for all babies.

Re: On Becoming Baby Wise - controversial approach?
I read it and it made sense to me to a point.....babies are animals...they have a routine whether we notice or not...
Alyson had developed her own routine/schedule before I read the book....and it was the same pattern. When she got a little older, she started to change it....now she wakes, hangs out, talks, plays, THEN eats and will often fall asleep immediately or soon after a bottle. With cereal...she'll get tired 20-30 min after
