Yard Work -- Is this hard to do?

I need to knock down a fence and pull out some really ugly bushes that are in poor condition. Is this a really big job? DH is handy (and a little lazy). I am not.

ETA: Can't decide about a new fence. IMO, I don't care for fences but I know DH is leaning towards one.)

We pulled out all our old wood and metal fences last year and pulled out a ton of gross bushes in the back last year as well to get ready for our new fence that was put in.

It was a ton a back braking work but I would never pay someone to do that IMHO, just suck it up, get out there and do it. I am not afraid to get dirty and sweat....dont know how you are LOL

It took forever, but when I look at my nice open canvas backyard and fence now I get so excited how it will look when we are all done with planting and cement work oneday.

DH & I did it at our house back in 2005. It was hard work but definately doable. I would suggest doing it in the spring so that it is not too hot outside.

We have some bushes in the front that we will be ripping out soon. It is all about the willingness to do it!

I agree with the above...I would not pay someone to do it when I am able to do it!

Just wanted to note: are you taking down the old fence to get a new one???

We thought we would have to pay more for the fence people to yank out the old one but we found out after the fact that we didnt. Had we known that we would have never spent that much time and energy doing it ourselves and just had the guys do it since it was free!

you can do it. call up some friends and pull in some favors..

get a bunch of guys and cook them dinner after!

its hard work but fun at the same time.

DH bribed a co-worker of his to help him chop wood for a pizza dinner. I'll go that route again....thanks!

Last summer DH and I pulled out tons of bushes, trees, rocks an old fence and even pulled down an old shed......it is very hard work but completely doable!!!!!!!!!!!
