My sister and her husband were on opposite schedules for a few years. She would come home from work, he would hand the baby over to her, tell her what the baby ate, etc., and then walk out the door to go to work.

this is our exact situation. Every couple of weeks I feel down about it.

Mon, Tues, and Wed we are. I work from 10-6pm and DH works from 3-11pm. so he's home alone in the AM and i'm alone in the PM. it sucks but the other 4 days we are together.

Just want to send hugs.
Two of my teacher friends are married to NYPD and a US Customs officer. Their DH's work nights to avoid the cost of daycare but they rarely see each other. It's as if they are single moms at night and on the weekend.
My friend who is married to the cop only gets every 6th weekend with him
It's bad enough mine has to travel once a month. I don't think I could handle every night.
to all of the couples who work opposite schedules.

My husband is a cook, and is working 2 jobs now..I work 830 till 430 and he works 5 till 11 some nights, sometimes 5 till close(1-2am)
Once in a while he has a day shift and I am out of control ecstatic!

I'm glad because we at least get the weekends, so I can't complain about that, and this job, he doesn't have to work holidays, his old job he did, so I will be happy come Christmas, at least

Me. DH works from 9-6 Monday to Friday and goes to school from 6-9 from Monday to Thursday. Sigh- only a year and a half left.

I voted other...because DH's schedule is eratic.....I usually am home a few hours before he is almost every night. It is a little better this semester because his work hours changed.
