You know when they measure your belly?
What are they measuring for? To make sure that you are growing, or is there a certain number that you are supposed to measure that is for the number of weeks you are? Also, if the second one is true, does anyone have a chart for this? THanks!

Re: You know when they measure your belly?
they are measuring to make sure your belly/baby isnt growing too big (or not big enough) - it's like an old-fashioned growth sono
i read that once you pass 20 weeks, your belly *should* measure (in centimeters) the # of weeks that you are - so if you are 25 weeks, from the top of your pubic bone to the top of your uterus should be 25 cm.

do you lie flat down to measure this? cause I always feel when I lie down, my belly like goes out to the side

oh, so THAT's the measurement? cm= weeks? that's good to know! My ob measures me and never even tells me the #. at 30 weeks I was 2 cm ahead, but then I believe I caught up with my belly's measurements in the last few weeks. (honestly, I have a bit of extra fluff there, and I think that was contributing to the initial measurement )

No, you sort of recline.

sometimes i am lying all the way down, sometimes i am slightly reclined - but even though your belly may spread to the sides, your uterus won't really spread, so the measurement is still pretty accurate.
