Your favorite unique places to take out of towners in NYC
I have some friends coming to visit next month. They're both mid twenties. Vegetarians. Movie geeks. Semi into theater (but I'm not so I'm not the best person to guide them here). They've been to the city before but basically haven't been beyond where you could get from Grand Central on foot within an afternoon.
I need suggestions on maybe lesser known places -- we have three days potentially to kill.
I am not super familiar with exploring the city during the winter...
They love awesome food -- they want the best NYC pizza they can get but we'll need other stuff too. (Just has to be veggie friendly)
Open to a variety of stuff. TIA for your suggestions.

Avenue Q at New World Stages would be great.
Strand Bookstore if they're into books. Books of Wonder too. It's a childrens book store (You've Got Mail was based on that store) but it's just so, so great.
Forbidden Planet comic shop. It's near the Strand. It's really awesome.
Brooklyn Flea if they happen to be in town over a weekend. It's indoors in cold weather.
Dutch Kills bar in Queens.
Brooklyn Bowl for bowling/live music.
Eastville Comedy Club.
As far as food, I love bringing out of towners to Yaffa Cafe.
Could also look in to Artichoke Basille pizza, Eataly, Frankie's Spuntino for food. Alice's Tea Cup is cute. Also, I can't vouch for this as I haven't been there yet, but Chobani has a store in SoHo and I find that kind of exciting.
The Museum of Natural History is obviously really touristy but it's such an amazing place. And right across from Central Park, which, if it's nice out, you can always walk to.

A couple more that come to mind...since they're movie peeps
ReRun Gastropub Theatre in Brooklyn (it's a movie theater)
Sunshine Landmark Cinemas to see a movie
Going to see Rocky Horror at midnight
doing one of those On Location Tours for NYC movie sights.

I think Eataly is a fun stop and good for a quick bite to eat...or Shake Shack is across the street!
Same for Chelsea Market. I like foodie type places lol

Would they like ice skating in Central Park or Bryant Park?

I would take them to grand central - they have a tourist/welcome booth there with discounts for the city, maps, and brochures of things to do in the city.
