your thoughts on moving needed
We will be moving some large DR and BR pieces with loads of boxes from Nassau to the east end of Suffolk county. We would need a moving company for this. But in return, we want to bring some large light-weight rattan pieces back here.
We haven't used a moving company in way too many years and I have no idea what they charge. Does anyone want to share what moving expenses are?
Also, do you think it would pay to use the moving company for the lighter pieces to come back to Nassau county or would it be possible to maybe find someone with a truck who wants to make some extra money. I'm thinking of a college kid with a couple of friends maybe?

I'm sorry, I don't have any pricing BUT I would definitely ask the company what the additional cost would be to bring the lighter pieces back. It may not add to much on.
good luck!

Re: your thoughts on moving needed
We just moved (a local move, about 5 minute drive) and used a moving company. All the companies I priced charge an hourly rate, in most cases with a minimum of 2 or 3 hours. This includes driving time in between the location you are moving from and the location you are moving to. In some cases they add an hour for their travel time depending where they are based. In most cases it was around $60-$100/hour, depending on the company. HTH!
As for the travel back, it may add depending on when you are scheduled in the day. If you are the last move and they are based near your first location (which you would be going back to) it may not be bad b/c they’d almost be going there anyway. It’s really all based on the time. Typically they travel from one move to another and do more than one in a day (if they are local and not going to take all day).
