Yummy easy chicken receipe we had tonight... can be made in stove or crockpot
16 oz french dressing 2 envelopes of dry onion soup mix 2 cans whole berry cranberry sauce I used 14 pieces of bone on chicken thighs and legs, you can use any type of chicken you want.
Dump in bowl first 3 ingredients...mix well/blended Put on top of chicken, cover with foil , bake at 350 for 35 minutes, uncover and cook about 30 minutes more or until chicken is cooked thru. This can easily be put in the crockpot too.
Serve with white rice/or brown rice, it makes a gravy to put on top

Re: Yummy easy chicken receipe we had tonight... can be made in stove or crockpot
I make this all the time!! I love love love it! I had it for dinner at someone house and loved it and when she told me the ingerdients I was a littl e . Butr honestly it is delicous. I made 2 big trays of it for a party last year and everyone loved it!!
My DH ate it about 4 times before he knew what was in it - if he knew before hand he never would have eaten it!!! Hmmm....maybe I will make it tonight.
I usually use 1 bottle of dressing, 1 packet of soup mix, 1 can of cranberry sauce and a package of boneless, skinless chicken breasts.

It was the frist time I made it so I was not sure to double it or not, and wanted left overs. SO YUMMY!

This does sound delicious.
My question is have you used any other dressing or this kind is the only one that tastes best w/ it?
Thanks

It sounds really good but can I use whole cranberries instead of the canned?

I think you need the canned to help make the consistency of the sauce

Re: Yummy easy chicken receipe we had tonight... can be made in stove or crockpot
Just bought all the ingredients for this. I had to hide the French Dressing.....otherwise, DH would ask and if he knew the ingredients in this....he wouldnt eat it and be a PITA.
I am a little afraid too but I'm willing to try it. It's the French dressing thats just throwing me off.....LOL
I think I'm gonna make this Monday in the crock pot......
I'll come back with the results on Tuesday.....

Can you use the cranberry sauce without the cranberries? For some reason, they gross me out, but I love the taste of cranberries.

I read it - but you can buy the canned cranberry sauce without the berries. That's what I was wondering..... I would still use the cranberry sauce, just the kind that's not chunky.

Re: Yummy easy chicken receipe we had tonight... can be made in stove or crockpot
I ended up making this in the crockpot today....
It was good. It was almost like a sweet and sour chicken (but baked). Definitely need the rice to compliment it b/c it is somewhat on the sweet side.
Surprisingly, DH liked it....a little weirded out when I told him what was in it.
If I make it again....I'll probably bake it in the oven though.

I have never tried it that way, but I think it would work fine.

Re: Yummy easy chicken receipe we had tonight... can be made in stove or crockpot
I tried this tonight and it was delicious. Used one bottle of dressing, 1 can of whole berry cranberry sauce and 1 envelope of onion soup mix and it was delicious. To make it WW friendly I used light French dressing. Next time I am going to try it with FF. Thanks for posting! Hubby loved it!
