After Phase 4?
So LI is in Phase 4, but what comes next?
When will offices and stores be back allowed to have 100% of their staff back? When will stores be allowed to stop limiting the number of people?
I've looked and looked and can't find anything about what happens next. I get that we probably won't be back to "normal" for quite a while and probably not until schools do reopen, but I feel like Cuomo is going to leave us hanging in phase 4 limbo forever.
Does anyone know?

After Phase 4?
My honest guess is probably not for a year or so, until they learn more about the disease.
Also, even though people don’t like them, I’m assuming masks are here to stay for a long time.

After Phase 4?
Until we get a vaccine. Which I don't agree with, because Fauci has said the vaccine will only be 75% effective, and he knows many Americans won't take it. So, what is the point of waiting for this vaccine that probably won't make much of a difference.

After Phase 4?
Look at what is happening in other states now that pressured for reopening. We probably won't have things back to how it was for a long time

Re: After Phase 4?
It looks like many places are working at 100% if you drive around the industrial areas. I thought it was 25% but I have seen parking lots full like they were months ago.

Re: After Phase 4?
All businesses can open but they have to abide by occupancy limits (50% or less). So it will not be unusual to see someone standing outside a store or restaurant ensuring only X amount of people can be seated inside or can go inside a store. This will ensure social distancing protocols can be safeguarded.

After Phase 4?
There are subsets of Phase 4 supposedly where things can open.

Re: After Phase 4?
Just saw today that some malls are now allowed to open on Long Island on Friday Roosevelt Field will be opening Friday, Broadway Mall on Saturday. They need to have the special air filters that Cuomo talked about in place prior to opening.

Gyms can open at 50% capacity? Movie theaters?

Re: After Phase 4?
My office is back to 100% this week. But we are considered "essential".
I have noticed that the roads are getting more crowded each day.
When I first started back about 3 weeks ago, there were just a few cars on the road.

Re: After Phase 4?
I know about the subsets of Phase 4, but I guess what I'm looking for is some guidance like: "at phase 53, Macys can have 100% of their employees back and no longer have to limit the number of shoppers...." or "at phase 72 your lawyer's office can be fully staffed again with no one working remotely anymore"
That kind of stuff.

King Coumo won’t tell us that so he can keep control over NY.

That's what I want to know too. I kept asking my dad, " Why isn't there a Phase 5?"
Even when they thought gyms were in phase 4, nothing was allowed past 50%. Like forever? I honestly think no one expected us to get this far or that once we do rates will go up, so they won't need phase 5+.
The other way to look at it is if there is no post 4 plan, if numbers don't go up after a few weeks into phase 4, it could be a free for all & everything can go back to normal, but I don't think it would be interpreted that way.

I dont know about gyms or movie theaters but Cuomo said they would be last to open- I believe the gyms would depend on the air filters in their facilities, just like with the malls (which are supposed to open tomorrow). I personally have no plans of going to any gyms even if they are open, I used to work out at Orange Theory Fitness and I am sad that I cant go back, but the idea of huffing and puffing in potential virus particles from someone in the same room skeeves me out.

I doubt we will ever get back to pre-pandemic crowd levels. Until the virus is eradicated, we will have to learn to live with these restrictions, either masks inside stores or crowd density reductions.
My company (large ins company) has already told its workforce that they dont expect workers to be back in their offices until January 2021 (they will have site-essential workers rotate days to come in but workers who are consider themselves vulnerable or high risk are allowed to WFH until then).

I think 75% effective is pretty good. If people are high risk they need to take it or be willing to stay home. I think everyone else should do what they feel is best for them and once the vaccine is out then masks should be optional.
