What are you doing this year for fundraisers? It's so tough when we don't know what's happening so have been working on seeing what fundraisers we can or can't do. Usually a book fair at school is big or a lot of indoor school activities. We don't even know if there will be a 1st grade orientation or just a zoom. Figured I'd get some ideas from your schools or we can share some. We are looking into the spirit wear and adding masks to the list to sell. May have to do an outside book fair in Fall and maybe a distancing fun run. Not sure.

Re: PTA/PTO moms
last year we did a greeting card sale.
its a box of 30 cards for $30 and there are different sets.
I think you get like 40% of sales.
I liked it and hope we do it again because i need more kid birthday cards

I am on our middle school Board and we are doing spirit wear and various online fundraisers as of right now.
For SpiritWear, we have added masks and lanyards as I've seen on FB it's helpful to use a lanyard as a mask holder while in school so it doesn't get misplaced.
We are also looking into some sort of online Bingo type thing - where you buy a box and try to win an item that is donated.
There are limited options right now but, on the other end, the PTA may not be spending as much on assemblies and such either.

We are sitting down now to go over our events for the year. I do not think most of them will be going on so there is not going to be a big need to fundraise. I also personally don't want to put an extra burden on parents if they were financially hit during the shut down.
If we do fundraise, it will mostly be spiritwear (they are doing masks now) and maybe mixed bags. That is always big and can be shipped home.
I liked that greeting card idea. I'll have to find info on that.

I looked it up myself since it sounded great and no schools in our district do it already!

We are also looking into Boon Bags.
The elementary schools do Yankee Candle, Charleston Wrap, and Square 1 Art remotely as well. I run the Yankee Candle and it wasn't as profitable this year remote (usually we make over $1k, we made just over $200). The Middle School did Pura Vida bracelets last year too.

We are planning on doing a Boon Supply fundraiser, an online books fair (our spring one was profitable since they sold the books from the summer reading lists and the library was closed), and possibly the card fundraiser.

Re: PTA/PTO moms
Thanks all! These are great!
Our book fair in the Spring online was not a success. Boo!
I will look into the card fundraiser. That's a great idea. We are also doing Spirit wear and trying to figure other stuff out so we have some money and form of communication with parents too.

We are also looking into an online auction/raffle to help replace our big in person fall events (handbag bingo, etc). Some schools have done it and have been quite profitable.
The only reason our spring online book fair was a success is that it's the middle school and there are summer reading assignments so people bought their books there lol.
