My one question on sports is can a kid play if he’s going to school virtually and did not choose the in person? I have friends in other states and they have to choose the in person school to play any school sports.

It makes sense to me to require that way but I’m sure parents would go nuts here.

My district hasn’t decided yet. We are five days a week and they just added a virtual option. But they said if you are keeping your child home bc you aren’t comfortable sending them than how are you comfortable having them play sports? I’m assuming they are checking with their attorneys.

I think if a kid is fully virtual and still wants to play sports then it's fine. Nobody said that the only reason you had to choose virtual was because you were scared of the virus. A parent could have chosen fully virtual because they didn't want their kids wearing a mask all day. Or maybe they didn't want them to be inside all day. Or maybe they couldn't swing the alternate day child care schedule and it was easier to leave them full time with someone. Sports are different.
