I would go, and take these precautions.

Load up on 1000 mg of vitamin C before and after. Take some zinc also.

Bring alcohol wipes and use them after shaking hands, before eating, to wipe off your phone throughout the night.

Don't touch your eyes, nose or mouth with unclean hands.

If it's a buffet, use a napkin to touch the handles.

These are all of my pre-pandemic "things", and I've been doing them the past 8 months.

Have fun!!

This is great advice and stuff we should all be doing all the time, like you do. My concern for OP would be that it’s all for nothing if she and her family don’t wear masks or truly stay many feet away from others.

Considering the room holds up to 400 ppl and she’ll only have 60, I’m pretty sure she’ll have more chances in getting covid by going to the supermarket.

The difference is masks are required in supermarkets. People get very relaxed when they are around family and friends. There are more than 160,000 brand new cases and climbing in our country today. Everyone has to be cautious if we want this to ever stop. No one wants another lockdown, but no one really wants to do the work to prevent one.

How many are false positives? You will never hear that as many many people are told they are positive and then told ooops they are wrong.
People need to take care of themselves more. If you need to be told to wash you right hands that is a problem right there. Eat healthy at normal times and get sleep and some vitamin D.

False positives are rare. False NEGATIVES are common with the rapid test. Do you check any reputable sources? I mean science sources not media/FB?

These are real people I know who were false positive, not something I heard in the media.

How many? You make it seem like false positives account for hundreds of thousands of people.

Did they get two tests? Is that how they know they were false positives? Was it a lab error which was later corrected?

How do we not know how many there could be if people know someone who has had this happen to them?

Both, second test and error thinking they switched tests and never had it.

Exactly. I wonder is all these people have not done anything for months. Sad as life is too short to stop it for a virus that has a 1% death rate. People need to stop listening to the media who wants to scare them.

My DH has cancer and hypertension. We haven't done anything for months. Why? Because whatever the death rate, the chance is too great to take with his life. And there are too many people who say the number of cases is a lie, go live your life, the media is trying to scare you etc who don't wash their hands, don't wear masks and don't keep their effing distance.

The remarks you made remind me of my mother's oncologist (who I didn't like) that stopped her chemo when she broke her leg. He said it would take her broken bone longer to heal and she might not walk again and be stuck in a wheelchair if he continued the chemo. My thought was better to be alive and enjoy her grandchildren while in a wheelchair, then dead with a completely healed bone she would no longer use. Of course, that's what happened, and less than two months after the chemo stopped because of the oncologist who refused to continue her treatment while she was healing.

If you feel like you can live with yourself if you contract Covid and give it to a family member who then dies - bravo for you and your remarkable ability not to feel guilty.

I think the media increases the fear mongering. If you stop listening to them, be careful like you normally would with someone who is immune compromised then you can live.

.

Get off the main stream media and Start following scientists and doctors who are on the front lines.

I know many on the front lines and I will and have listened to them over any media.

Everyone I know on the front lines was horrified by the spring here.

Medical personnel I know in other states are in desperate situations right now.

REAL doctors and nurses sharing their often horrific stories of the positions they are being put in.

“REAL” doctors and nurses? What does that mean?

I would go, and take these precautions.

Don't touch your eyes, nose or mouth with unclean hands.

Thanks- we have definitely stepped up our hand washing and sanitizing. And wear masks as recommended. Didn’t think about adding supplements but I keep hearing about zinc and Vitamin D

Nope, would not go. And honestly anyone with a brain and a modicum of education would understand why you backed out at last minute.

THIS. Also, with all the precautions, wearing masks, distancing, wiping everything down...by the time you do all this...is it going to even be a fun wedding? It a buzz kill. If I were that couple, I wouldnt even have a wedding reception...

I don’t like to judge but I tend to agree with this. She a first time older bride at 46 and do I get wanting to not wait any longer but I would personally do a court wedding and then have the wedding I have always wanted later on.

Vitamin D is huge. They even did some studies that showed people with low Vitamin D levels faired worse if they contracted Covid than those who had normal D levels. It can't hurt to up it. It's very good against many viruses

I won't respond directly to the troll, that's why she is not going away. But for someone with three accounts she doesn't pay much attention. Everybody else on here is probably sick to death of me saying how I am an essential worker who works everyday in an office!!

One account, one account. How many times do you need to be told I only have one account. Those other 2 are not me. Kind of have an idea who 43 is with the same glitch so she might have outed herself.

This! It might be hard to believe but a lot of us are deficient in Vit D unfortunately and now that days are shorter we will be even more. Vit D3 is better absorbed by the body and more so if it’s consumed with a meal that contains animal fat. I also agree with zinc, daily intake is best during this time. Vitamin C (absorbic acid would be more readily available), look into a high dose protocol for this.
