What's everyone having xmas eve?
Trying to decide what to make. We don't have our own traditions so looking for some inspirattion!

Since family doesn’t want to get together this year, probably just another day as I am working all day.
In the past we have gone all Italian with a pasta dish and sides. Chicken cutlets with sides another year. One year we even did a Turkey meal like Thanksgiving.

What's everyone having xmas eve?
Since we aren’t seeing family this year, we are ordering takeout from a steakhouse on Christmas Eve. I am cooking on Christmas Day though.

We aren't getting together with anyone either, so I am just doing all appetizers- more like a party. On Christmas day, I will make a traditional meal.

Same thing we always have - Pernil (roasted pork), arroz with gandules, and my sister is going to make baked chicken instead of a ham this year.

We doordash Red Lobster all the time. I love it. Crab legs and fried shrimp are the best! And the bisquits lol.

We are having the same meal as always just paired down, baked clams, crab legs, zuppe di pesce, fried shirmp, flounder and broccoli to pretend we are healthy lol.

Having breakfast for dinner. We never have a good 'indulgent' breakfast so we are going to do it for a special dinner.
French toast or pancakes, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns
Wondering now if I should whip up some biscuits. Hmm.

We did an order for pickup on tuesday at the honey baked ham in levittown. we got a roasted glazed turkey breast and a few sides

Not getting together with 30 people like we usually do at my aunts house for her big Xmas eve spread so it will be pizza most likely being it will only be me, Dh and DD.

Normally we do a big Xmas Eve but since it'll be just us, we're doing noshy, app foods..... Whiskey BBQ Meatballs, cheese and crackers, dip, pigs in a blanket, etc.
Xmas Day is still just us but I'm doing a nice dinner of homemade stuffed shells, meatballs, a spiral ham and homemade dinner rolls.

I had debated doing lasagna but there were no lasagna noodles at the store when I shopped. So we're going with appetizers. Pigs in a blanket, crab cakes, spinach dip with veggies, maybe hot artichoke dip. NYE we'll do other appetizers since thankfully there's no shortage of ones we like.

Normally we have a big family gathering with seafood and Italian food.
It will just be us 4 but I got some shrimp cocktail and other apps and we are going to order from a “nicer” Italian place in town vs the one we go to everyday on our block. May get a few pastas and chicken and just freeze any extras.
I’m cooking Christmas Day - breakfast will be some type of baked eggs, cinnamon rolls and fruit. Lunch will be apps/snacks. Dinner will be lamb and maybe nuggets for the kids because I’m tired of making 2 meals lol.
We will eat in the dining room and set it up nice like thanksgiving. Good enough is good enough.
My friends grandma died after getting covid from thanksgiving gathering. Please be careful.

No big Christmas Eve this year, we usually have the seven fishes. It's just us and the kids- and we are ordering in chinese food. Earlier in the day the kids will help me bake brownies and for dessert we will have brownies topped with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.

We usually have a huge Italian Christmas eve with about 50 people. This year it will be us with my parents & brother (6 people). We're doing zuppe di pesce over linguine, fried shrimp and crab legs.

we usually have our pernil with white rice and black beans. i'm not in the mood to make black beans, so i'll be making arroz con gandules.
