fellow vegetarians, need your assist
i've been vegetarian for 10 years, no issues. all of a sudden everything i eat is bloating me like crazy.
all our foods are on the deadly bloat list.
I haven't been to a doc yet, i'm curious what you all eat that doesn't cause bloat, cause i'm running out of options!
Tried a probiotic, in a non dairy "yogurt" drink and a pill, no help.

Re: fellow vegetarians, need your assist
i have found that as i get older, my body doesn't like some foods the way my taste buds do.
i'm transitioning away from gluten and dairy and i'm noticing that it's helping with the bloat and discomfort i had started feeling.
maybe that might be something for you to look into.

yes i think that could be a start, but i'm mostly a veggie/bean eater, yes some pasta and bread but it's been less and less

Any change in particular foods over the holiday? Gut flora is highly influenced by changes in routine and will let you know. I would avoid dairy and have a bland diet for a few days.

another thing that crossed my mind... not sure if it applies to you, but it has helped me, too.
eating a little less frequently. i'm currently doing IF. i don't mean that you have to go to that point, but i've noticed that if i wait a little longer between meals and really let myself feel physical hunger, i feel less bloat.
and that's the extent of my bloat reduction knowledge
i hope you're able to find the answer to your issue quickly. there are few things that feel more uncomfortable than bloat.

i never seemed to get back to my prior normal

Re: fellow vegetarians, need your assist
Can you give a sample diet of what you tend to eat every day? Including drinks, etc.
Also I think things have changed as I have gotten older, but that may be just me.
I’m not a vegetarian, but I tend to eat a lot of veggies with proteins or just straight up protein for a meal. Also I tend to eat a lot of spicy foods and since I have really gotten into it in the past few years, I have noticed that I don’t often have bloat. Very rarely will i have pasta or grains these days. I’ll sometimes have rice, but my new thing is spelt for a grain. I love it.
So yeah, maybe a sample menu of what you eat and drink in a day.

breakfast usually small bowl of oatmeal squares with almond milk. or some fruit like apple with peanut butter.
lunch can be hummus with some veggies or veg soup or bean soup.
dinner salad with some artichoke hearts, sundried tomato. i used to eat some pasta with tomato sauce but have stopped pasta. occasionally have a piece of fresh fish, pan sauteed. maybe quinoa with veggies like sauteed onion and mushrooms
drink water hibusicus tea or vino! no sodas or juices.
i also eat a lot of spicy, hot sauces on anything or cayanne in soup etc.
i also used to be very regular, going as soon as i woke up. now its very random. i see a visit to a gastro in my future

Re: fellow vegetarians, need your assist
OK. Some of those foods give me gas. Apples, hummus, and beans.
I also assume you mean a normal amount of vino. ;)
You might have developed an allergy to something. I’d get it checked out if it is that noticeable.
