Vaccine spots

If you are a long island resident are you allowed to get an appointment for a place in one of the 5 boroughs?

Re: Vaccine spots

It’s confusing Cause on those sites it specifically asks if you live in NYC.

I thought those sites were only for those who live, work or have Drs in NYC (other than the state run sites like Javits and Aqueducf) but I am not 100% sure. My friend got her mom and dad vaccinated at Columbia but they have Drs there.

Yeah my friend and parents got appointments in the city, not sure if they have a dr. there but they live in Suffolk.

There are state-run sites in the city where anyone can go, but there are also the city-run sites that they want to hold for city residents or employees. (It's changed -- when it first started, anyone could go anywhere.) But the Javits Center and Aqueduct sites are state run, so anyone can go to those.

ETA: I read this in the NY Times yesterday. I didn't know about the difference before that.

Yes, that's accurate. Anyone can go to a state site, but only city residents/workers can go to a city-run site. Same with county-run sites, but most of those don't even have doses anyway.
