Supplemental insurance for elderly person
I will be caring for my elderly parents soon and my mother whom is ill has medicare and a supplemental insurance plan that is not valid here in NY. Is their one you recommend? I know there is AARP and some others but not am looking for a recommendation of one over the others.

Supplemental insurance for elderly person
My mom has the AARP supplemental for about 3 years now and I have been very happy with the coverage. She sees a lot of doctors and everything has been covered so far

Re: Supplemental insurance for elderly person
I agree that AARP through United Healthcare is excellent. What does she have now? The Plan Letter is the one that actually spells out the coverage. 'G' covers most of the extra costs. All Supplemental plans must offer the same thing. I believe Plan G with AARP UHC is going to offer the same coverage as Blue Cross for example. The difference will be in the price and the ease of navigating through their system. Also, I would stick with a company that has been around awhile.
I believe on Medicare.gov you can price the different plans.
