This is my own opinion obviously, but I am not a huge fan of this cooking kit. For background info: My daughter has been gifted 3 boxes so far and I love cooking myself! The box provides 3 recipe cards (no ingredients), and one tool (one time it was a gingerbread man cookie cutter, one time it was a pancake mold, and one time it was a plastic travel spoon and fork). It also includes a patch which I find useless garbage and 3 cards with a conversation starter on it. Now, regarding the recipe cards: Since they don't provide the ingredients, you need to go out and buy everything. Occasionally they will have some difficult to find items or things that aren't usually in my pantry and then I am left with these odd ingredients. Also, the recipes are not entirely kid friendly, they need a lot of adult help. My DD who wants to be so independent gets annoyed at that and she doesn't really like cooking to begin with - so it becomes frustrating for us both. They create a big mess that ultimately the parent gets stuck with I feel like. I don't really feel like it's worth the cost. You are basically paying for one kitchen tool and 3 recipe cards essentially!! You can find better recipes online for free. and a silicone pancake mold or a small gingerbread cookie cutter isn't worth $15-$20. You can go to bed bath and beyond and get way more for your money. Plus you need to buy all the food ingredients. One time it cost me like $8 just for the super special type of flour they required, and that was after going to 3 different stores to find it. Honestly, I would just do a food subscription service. Something where they give the recipe and the ingredients or maybe just a box like misfits market - organic produce fruits and veggies (same price as this raddish kit but its all edible). Look online for recipes for ways to use the fruits and veggies. it's different stuff each month so it's fun learning what each thing is and trying out all the stuff. So that's my opinion.

I'll give another perspective...my daughter is turning 11 next month. She's had the subscription about 8 months. We love it. You get three recipes and a new "tool" every month. Since we started with the 6 month subscription, she got an apron included and the patches can be ironed on to that. The recipes are kid friendly and she can do most the work herself. It has tips and lessons (like how to properly chop or what different cooking terms mean). We have made most of the recipes, my daughter had tried new things (she's super picky) and liked most of them. We usually make it a fun "event" at home. I haven't found too many ingredients that I don't have at home (like for the roasted chicken, we had to buy a whole chicken, but had everything else). I will say- my daughter wants to be a chef. So, she's really invested in the whole thing. There a few that we have brought into our cooking rotation- like the spinach/basil pesto is now a staple, the antipasto salad is something we make all the time. We made ravioli, from the dough to the filing and I'm going to say they were one of the best ravioli I've ever had..and I'm from a big italian family where we make that stuff all time. It's not for everyone, but we enjoy it and it has provided some family fun time, especially during this last year being home all the time!

Haha, totally different opinions but I appreciate both!

I'm looking to incorporate my kids into cooking.

They will bake with me. They will measure and mix. But I guess I want them to do more cooking.

My daughter gets cooking boxes from America’s Test Kitchen Junior Chef Club and it sounds very similar with the recipe cards and kitchen tools. My daughter loves it though and has tried different types of food that she normally wouldn’t eat. Recently she made pierogies from scratch and last weekend she made lemon ricotta pancakes for all of us from scratch.
