I find the war on a woman's right to choose to care on a pregnancy is on such assault...even in case of rape and incest. Yet, there is a hole in the social safety nets for these children. Require carrying to term but don't offer health care, food, medical care, child care or real laws to make the father as responsible. If these fetus' rights need to be protected in the womb...their lives outside of the womb deserve as much protection too.

Agree. NY is far from perfect, overly taxed, etc. but at least we aren’t some backwards asss state when it comes to this.

The fact that my daughter may one day not have the right to chose like that scares the living shit out of me to be honest.

I completely agree.
I was reading in another article, and I didn't confirm, but there are only 3 facilities in MS that even perform abortions.

This is the biggest issue for me as a voter.
IMO, you’ll never stop abortion. You’re just stopping SAFE abortions. When a woman becomes pregnant, she has 3 choices. Always has, always will. Keep it, give it up, or terminate. You’re just taking away a knowledgeable doctor with sterile equipment and replacing it with knitting needles, a wire hanger, throwing herself down stairs, taking a combination of herbs, or even killing herself .

Agreed.

My ONLY issue with abortions is late term abortions on perfectly healthy babies. I have a very hard time with that one.

I understand. But I read a quote somewhere that put it into perspective. A woman choosing a late term abortion has probably chosen a name, decorated a nursery, registered, talks to her belly constantly and has just received the worst news. We aren’t going to see a sudden spike in them.

Yes. You don't wait for the end of your pregnancy to casually decide to abort because eh you just don't want the baby.
We have pregnancy tests now that tell us before a missed period that we are pregnant. If you want to terminate, you will do it as early as possible.
Those late term abortions were generally being done due to some sudden catastrophic news about the health of the baby or mother

I’m talking late term abortions on perfectly healthy babies. That tiny percentage is the only ones that I just can’t stand behind, but at the same time....I’ve never been in their shoes.

If it was all or nothing, I’d stand behind pro choice.

Late term abortions on perfectly healthy babies aren't a thing. They are not legal via Roe and not protected by any state laws.

If there was a medical complication and the mother's life was at risk, they certainly might deliver the baby to save the mother, but that's different.

I couldn't agree more.

This MS case is scary and will be telling.

I said this from the beginning but what scared me more than Trump himself in office was his impact on the judiciary through his ability to appoint federal judges for life, including 3 SC justices (and one stolen seat.) And the three he appointed are young.

It's a clear danger to women's rights.

I can’t agree more. It’s just about my #1 voting issue and why I will never vote for anyone who is pro life.

I have no idea how anyone who is pro choice could have ever voted for Trump. Especially when he started saying complete nonsense that he was suddenly pro life. I’m horrified by his appointees.

This exactly. It's a ghost story to spook people into voting against a woman's right to choose. No one in their right mind would carry a baby for 7, 8, 9 months and then decide not to have it at all. And no doctor would perform an abortion at that stage. And if they did for whatever reason, at that point- it would be a DELIVERY not an abortion.

I’ve never been in that position so I simply go by things I read. If that is in fact true, I side with all the above.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I see anti abortion people protesting outside my office often and think to myself are they willing to be a foster parent or put more money into the social services system? They have no idea what goes on in some of these babies lives...

We rate the claim in the Facebook post as PARTLY FALSE, based on our research. While it is true that New York's abortion law allows procedures after 24 weeks, there are rules guiding that procedure: if the fetus is not viable or if the health or life of the mother is at risk. If medical practitioners determine that either of these factors are present, the mother can choose to have an abortion.

It is false to state or imply that any abortion can occur in New York "up until birth" as the social posts claims. That is misleading. Additionally, no state in the U.S. allows abortion "up until birth."

It amazes me that people think that in this country, a first world, relatively civilized place, there are doctors, who take an oath to do no harm, that are just going around killing full term babies because the mother decided after 8 or 9 months of carrying it that she changed her mind like it's a pair of shoes. And that it's legal.
I really just can't believe that people think that goes on.
