Spotting after AF
I got AF last Saturday (4 days late) had medium/normal flow for 3 days and some spotting. Pretty normal for me.
Then within a day of it ending, I started spotting red. Not enough for a liner, only when in bathroom. It’s been going on for 5 days. Yesterday I needed a liner and now today I don’t but still happening
I’ll be 44 in July. Dealt w Infertility for 10 years w low ovarian reserve etc. so I’m guessing it’s the beginning of hormones starting to get whacky. I’m putting a call into my gyno on Monday.
Anyone else similar situation? I know it could be literally ANYTHING - just curious at others experience.
PS Took a Pg test incase of chemical or another ectopic and it was negative.

Spotting after AF
I think it's normal, things change as we get older, just monitor and track on a calendar. Also, wondering why would you use the word chemical? to me that's only when going through IVF

A chemical pregnancy can happen at anytime. you may hear about it more with people going through IF because we test super early and then get AF. It’s very common and most women don’t even know they had one unless they are early testers.
I’m trying to go with the theory that this is normal as well.

Re: Spotting after AF
Probably part of perimenopause. But if it happens again I'd check with the doctor

I went to see NP (I can’t stand her) she pretty much dismissed everything said. First she started by saying that the female cycle can last up to 10 days. Ummmm I’ve had my period for 32 years, I know how it works and this is NOT normal for ME. Then goes on to saying “ya know, as we get older , our cycles change” no shit Sherlock. But my sister had cancer in her late 40s and she started with irregular bleeding sooooo any changes, I want to be on top of it.
She had me get a sonogram and wanted me to check my tsh. I asked her to check estrogen as well because that was a red flag for my sister and she said that she doesn’t rely on hormone bloodwork because of how much it fluctuates. I told her I understood but would feel better if she just put that on the script and I’d wait til cycle day 3 for a more accurate reading. She refused. They made me make a follow up appt with her but I canceled that as soon as I realized I can get my sono results myself on the portal.
Anyway…I threw the blood work script in the trash where it belongs (I’m going for my physical at my primary next month and he’ll do a full thyroid panel and add my lady hormones in there for me if I ask him to) had the sono and read results. Everything is fine. Have the 1 small fibroid I’ve had for years. No real findings.
I made my yearly with my actual dr there and will talk to him if my period is still weird. Which it is because I got it 4 days early this month (after the excessive spotting last cycle) and I’m bleeding pretty heavy.
It’s most likely age. I know this. But with the family history, I won’t mess around.
