Re: Housewarming Gift
When my parents moved into their 55 plus my inlaws got them a beautiful michael aram bread basket and my parents have gotten other pieces too. Check Bloomingdales. Maybe a vase or other dish

Boos Block Wooden Cutting Board - They are gorgeous and not just useful but also a nice decorative touch for the kitchen. I LOVE mine so much. They have different woods and sizes depending on your budget.
ETA - Add a gift card to the cutting board to Crate and Barrel or Pottery Barn.

Housewarming Gift
How about a door knocker for the front door? I got that for someone once from Things Remembered. Or, if they have a fireplace now, you can get a pretty holder for the wood (if it's not a gas fireplace), or something like that. Or something for the mantel.
Of course, you can go the practical route and get a Home Depot gift card. They'll definitely need that! LOL!

Re: Housewarming Gift
Anything by Michael Aram. A great set of candles. Really nice plants/orchids.
