Gift ideas for my inlaws
Help! I’m at a loss. I usually do various restaurant gift cards but my FIL is unable to get out much for awhile and my MIL doesn’t drive. They get take out. We do all of their errands. They aren’t techie and last year we got FIL a phone, he just got a new laptop recently as well… MIL barely turns her phone on so I’m going to upgrade hers and give it to DS and give her his old phone…
I’m at a loss!
ETA - they don’t collect much, they don’t need clothes really, MIL drinks wine but we’ve bought her a case recently…

Re: Gift ideas for my inlaws
One of the gifts I got for my in-laws was a goldbelly gift card. This way they can try food from around the US! DH and I love goldbelly. We get cheesesteaks form Philly all the time

Thanks! I like this. They are also super picky and not technologically inclined but I could easily find something to order for them here.

Gift ideas for my inlaws
Maybe omaha steaks? If they like coffee, maybe a coffee of the month club? Instacart gift card or Doordash gift card for food delivery?

Re: Gift ideas for my inlaws
Since they get a lot of takeout I'd do a gift card for takeout delivery service like doordash or if they're not into online ordering just a gift card to their favorite takeout restaurant.

Re: Gift ideas for my inlaws
My parents and MIL are hard to shop for because at this point they have everything they need and can buy whatever they want as needed. There are no "big" items to get for them anymore.
Instead, I like to get them little, simple things to enjoy. This year I am doing a themed basket/gifts.........."A Cozy Winter Night". Some of the things that I got were warm, fuzzy cabin socks, bag of Starbucks coffee, snowflake mugs, expensive chocolates, paperback novels, Sudoku book, vintage Scrabble game, domino holder, gourmet popcorn, Starbucks gift card, cozy blanket, puzzles, a journal, the Cozy Issue of Bella Grace magazine, etc etc. (I can't remember everything else offhand.)
I also got my mom and dad a Fitbit each.
Maybe you can do something like that as well? Think about what they like and either do a joint gift basket or individual gift basket filled with goodies that play off their interests.

I kind of do this for my parents as well - there is literally nothing they need. I will get a restaurant gift card or 2, a bottle of wine they like, snacks they like, chocolates, teas, a framed pic of DD or some other kind of art using her picture etc

My parents are a lot easier lol. They have interests and hobbies. I got them Yeti coffee mugs that fit in their cupholders and my mom collects snowglobes. My dad is getting a Lowes giftcard because they just redid their kitchen.
But other than a glass or wine or two a night, they don't drink at home, they are plain eaters, not tech savvy... I think I'm getting them a little something and then hiring them a snowplow service lol. They need printer ink lol so I was thinking of getting that for them as a gift too (because I'm going to have to get it anyway lol).

Re: Gift ideas for my inlaws
Have you heard of Storyworth? They get emailed a question a week to write about their life and then at the end of the year those questions are compiled into a book. We did it for my dad for Father's Day and we each got a copy of the book for our families and one for him. It was a great way for him to reminisce and we learned a lot about his life.
Also, maybe something like hello fresh if they enjoy cooking.

Gift ideas for my inlaws
Thanks everyone. I was talking to DS2 and he mentioned FILs garden gnomes broke so we are replacing those and I will get my mother in law some perfume and/or wine.

Re: Gift ideas for my inlaws
Every year I make a calendar for the next year with pictures of their grandkids- so my kids and my niece and nephew. I did it once and it was such a huge hit that I have to make them for everyone now!
