No matter how tired you get, remember: some day your kids will sleep until noon.
Cherish every moment of their childhood, some day your home will be quiet and you will have more time on your hands then you will know what to do with. And you will MISS IT.
Have to tell you, I LOVE the quiet and clean house when the kids are not around. I will NOT miss the chaos and fighting and messes
I never thought I would miss it. But with two in college, it's so lonely sometimes. I miss them.
Awww...I love it as I can actually have a conversation with my husband and be able to not be interrupted lol. Also, it is cheaper to go out and eat and do things

The days go slow but the years go fast
This one is my favorite of all time. Now with DS being a HS Junior, it makes all sense.

Nothing is permanent. Your child will not always wake up every hour, or sleep in your bed, or eat nothing but goldfish, or refuse to wear socks even when its 10 degrees outside. It's just a phase. It will get better... and then maybe a little worse... and then better again.
This also. DS slept in our bed with us, what it seemed forever. One day he stopped and that was it.

Make your husband do the work too. It's not only your job. And remember, when you leave the kids with their father, he is "parenting." Not "babysitting."
Yes!!! #1 mistake I see moms make all the time. Especially if they have a DD. Like mom can deal with the outfits, the hair, the shoes all better. F that. Train that man!
Nothing makes my blood boil like seeing a kid go to dad and him respond "your mother is over there." I see it all the time in our circle of friends and it gets me so hot!
Its a team effort!

No phase lasts forever.
All those parenting books - throw them out.
Do what works for you even if that is having them sleep in a swing at 6 months old. It won't matter in the end because ...no phase lasts forever.

Best Mom Advice
This was a great read, today I have two kids with practices and one car. Lots of running, I am deep in the school age phase and it has been hard on me. The young age was easier as a working mom. Picked them up from daycare/school/grandma's and brought them home. Now its run run run sports, activites.
I lost my mom two years ago and it has been a very hard adjustment without her. I loved her and relied on her emotionally so much. It reminds me that you don't have to be perfect to be a wonderful mother. She wasn't and I'm not but I love my kids and I do what I feel is best for them always.

You definitely don't have to be perfect. In fact, when we were on a long car ride a few months ago my kids started imitating me and all the things I do and say when I am upset. I yell a lot but it was so funny listening to them and it made me laugh so hard.

I’m sorry for the loss of ur mom! It’s never easy when we lose our mothers, ever. I lost my mom 18 yrs ago and there’s not one day I don’t think about her. It’s like a wound that even though it might close with time, it never heals completely. But know that she’s still with u though. She’s ur guardian angel that will be with u til u leave this earth.

Don't be a helicopter parent. Your child will sometimes fall, hurt themselves, or do something the wrong way. Life is not perfect, situations are not perfect, they are not perfect. Let your child make mistakes so they can learn from them.

thank you so much. I'm so sorry for your loss too. Honestly my children get me through the hard days, trying to do for them what she did for me
