Adult only trip … suggestions
Looking for some good places to go away for 3-5 days adults only.
Was considering Vegas with the time change and right now at the time I want to go which is late August airplane tickets are kind of high and don’t feel it’s with the money.
Thinking of trying to stay east coast or maybe where there is only a max hour time change. And not out of the country because I don’t want to deal with passports or Covid mandates or quarantines etc. (I know by August it could change and none of it will be there but I’d rather not wait to see) Considering maybe Puerto Rico.
Thinking maybe Miami but not really sure where to stay. I like to gamble but the hard rock casino in Miami is ridiculously expensive a night and I’m not spending $800 a night to stay there lol!

Vegas in August sounds absolutely brutal. It's probably 110 degrees.
I would probably go to the Charleston area but there are no casinos that I am aware of.
You can probably stay at a beach resort not too far from the Hard Rock in Florida - but I believe it's in Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale, not miami. And then just go there a couple times during your stay.

Cape May is awesome and AC is not far from it.
Or just do AC
Lots of places I can recommend in Florida, but August might be brutal. I personally love it but if you aren't into heat and humidity, you should probably avoid
New Orleans (time change but minimal) Nashville (same)
Charleston
Nantucket
Newport

If you are looking to gamble, I'd do AC.
If you are looking more into relaxing - Block Island and Newport are great.

I completely agree!!! My DH was there for business travel one time in August and he couldn't believe the heat! He said it averaged almost 120° every day he was there. Dry heat or not, that's SO hot!!!
How about a trip up to the New England area? All of the costal towns are gorgeous, we really enjoyed Newburyport, MA. Really quaint little town.

Nashville is so much fun for an adults trip. Going for a bachelorette party Atlantic City, Cape May are nice if you want to just drive. Kennebunkport or Portland Maine are also good options and you can drive (done it in 9 hours) or one hour 15 min flight and is usually inexpensive.

Re: Adult only trip … suggestions
Thanks everyone. I have done Atlantic City so many times I’m trying to avoid that! gambling is not top of my list I just like to gamble so if there are casinos where we end up going it’s just a plus!
I know in August Florida is going to be brutal but I would probably still go there because honestly I plan on staying in air-conditioning for most of the time lol If I do go to the beach it will be mostly to do water actives like jet skiing. I am not one to lay out on the beach!
I will look into the other suggestions also.

Check out Playa Largo Resort and Spa in Key Largo
Isla Bella Beach Resort and Spa in Marathon Florida
Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville in Hollywood Beach- I think it's close to the Hard Rock Casino in Fort Lauderdale if you want to go gamble
Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater
In Miami I stayed in South Beach at the Loews. The hotel was amazing, but South Beach is a bit sketchy as an area overall.

For adults only, I would do Nashville or New Orleans. Super fun. I just did Charleston also which was a great time. The finger lakes has a lot of wineries and breweries that would be fun. You could do the horse races in Saratoga also.

Agreed. I love New Orleans- the food, the music, the history, ugh it's all incredible. And I'm dying to go to Nashville. My DH went for a bachelor party a few years ago and said it was the best trip.

Re: Adult only trip … suggestions
It does seem like Nashville is the hot spot to go. Like some others have mentioned. New Orleans is great. AC, especially in the summer, because you have the beach. BTW, many places outside the US do NOT require you to quarantine when you get there or return home. You just have to test.

Re: Adult only trip … suggestions
Thanks everyone!! Will look into all these. Nashville does seem to be popular but I’m actually going on there with my children for a competition. so was trying not to do it again. Though I know the experience would be much different without kids!! lol

My fear really is if I do happen to test positive and I then am stuck in that country right ?? That’s what I am trying to avoid is being stuck in another country longer than I expected to be because I tested positive!! Figured I give it another year and hopefully things go back to a little bit more normalcy before I try to leave the US for vacation
