LUHI vs USDAN Summer Camp
I am having a really hard time choosing a summer camp option for my kids. My older daughter loves to sing and my younger one pretty can have fun doing anything with anyone .
Does anyone have an experience or recommendation for either? Would love any opinion from Anyone that has done both ??

LUHI vs USDAN Summer Camp
My son is going to USDAN for the first time this summer with friends who go every summer. He’s instrumental. So while I have no real experience, so far, I’m not thrilled about them not providing door to door transportation. It seems for them to do that, there needs to be a lot of kids in the immediate area. Instead, as you can see from their site, they use bus stop ‘hubs’. This may not make a difference to you but is a big adjustment to a family like ours who is used to the Crestwood/Driftwood door to doors. Also, he was wait listed for archery as his ‘minor’ (seems it’s a popular activity) but I think they took him off the wait list. Apply for the scholarship, they apparently give them out to a lot… mostly everyone… His friends enjoy the camp and have nice things to say about it so we’ll see

Thank you !! Yes I was hoping for door to door bc it would make life much easier. Thankfully our stop isn't too far but I still have rk drive there which sort of defeats the purpose of busing. Is your son doing rhe allegro program ? I am going to do that for my older daughter since she is singer - It seems like a great deal so I lucked out. I am hoping to get my other daughter a scholarship thoohh bc she is more into dance and art - or I will do the rec program. Good rk know rhe scholarships are readily avaialble bc it's pretty pricey without !!

LUHI vs USDAN Summer Camp
I know a lot of people who send their kids to LUHI camps. They all like them. My kids are adults now, but they used to go to the basketball camps there. The bus transportation was really nice.

I went to LuHi as a teen for sports camps and loved it.

Whoever you email in the enrollment department gets back to you very quickly. My scholarship is a better deal then the allegro so I’m sticking with that. And apparently this person said you had to pick Utime instead of an activity like archery? I don’t know, it’s so confusing. I did ask when I received the allegro email because the price was great but sticking with what we have.

That's good to know!! I find it so interesting that their scholarship program is completely based on self Reporting. Especially considering the full price of tuition.
If you wouldn't mind could you send me a PM about what you said in the scholarship application and what you request. Also what was the allegro email you recieved ?
I guess in exchange for the scholarship They restrict your rec activity since u time Can hold more kids and the more specialized rec activities have limited capacity.
It's an interesting system all Around !!
