Crop top age
Is it appropriate for a 10 year old to wear a crop top that’s part of a skirt set? It shows about an inch or so of her belly. My sister bought it for her. And we didn’t realize it would show her belly. I’ve seen kids in her class wear them, but I wasn’t always sure how I felt about it. It is cute, I just don’t want to be judged too much.

Seems fine to me. Especially since it is just about an inch and I am thinking this is what is in now as I can barely find tops myself without them being cropped.
Who would judge if the other kids are wearing them?

My DD does she's 11. I'm talking just like an inch or so of belly - not a ton.
But I think it's fine.

Ok thanks so much! I’ve seen only 2 other classmates wear them. So I wasn’t sure if I would be judged. She can pull up the skirt so there is almost no gap, but it didn’t look right. So I just wanted to make sure from you ladies. Thanks again!

My 11 year old is obsessed with them and I am okay with it. I bought a shirt for her not realizing it showed like 1/2 inch of belly and she put it on for school. I asked if she was allowed to wear that and she said a lot of the girls at school wear them! I think it's fine.

However can clothing stores understand that MOMS don’t want crop tops? Those days are over! I want my sweatshirt and t shirt looong tyvm

I think it's fine but those aren't allowed in our schools until HS. No midriffs exposed in elementary and especially middle school, where they are super strict.

My DD is 11 and she’s in fifth grade. I do not allow her to wear crop tops right now to school unless there’s a shirt underneath it. But almost all of hers definitely show more than an inch of stomach. (At least I’m pretty sure they do)
My biggest issue is when they raise their arms how much stomach is showing?? That’s what I worry about the most.
I’m also dont want to battle any dress code rules they may have right now because if my daughter ever gets sent home for something I approve her wearing I will have an issue with that.
Outside of school im more lenient what she’s allowed to wear

We didn't allow crop tops until my daughter was in HS. She would wear a tank underneath it. But I am a hypocrite because I remember wearing crop tops and mini skirts at 10 lol. My daughter is not very self aware and would have no issue walking around with a boob sticking out so I think that has alot to do with it : ).

My youngest is 6 going on 7 and she wears them. As long as her belly button isnt showing, i don't see the big deal.

 So did I. I’m also completely out of the loop because I didn’t even know crop tops were “in.” The tween/teen girls I see in the neighborhood wear leggings and oversized hoodies. They all look like they’re about to rob a 7-11.

That was DD and her friend's look last year in 5th grade. I swear she had more hoodies than one person can ever wear in a lifetime.
Now that she's in a middle school it's a whole new world- now she has more ripped up jeans (and crop tops) than any human should have- and more sneakers. And all the sneakers are more money than I'd ever spend on shoes for myself, and I don't outgrow them!
And now we have a pile of expensive hoodies that she just HAD to have last year that she doesn't wear anymore.
