My mom requested years ago no gifts for Mother's Day or her birthday. She really doesn't need or want anything and she is out of state so if she lived closer we would probably do dinner.
I would suggest maybe a gift card. Maybe for hair, nails, restaurant, clothes. Or whatever interest she has.

That's what we do for pretty much every occasion. At this point, we all have what we want or just buy it ourselves.

What's everyone getting their mom for Mother's Day?
I usually get a gift but I think this year I will send flowers (I did that in 2020 as well lol). My dad has been sick and she has been spending every minute of visiting hours with him so I think some flowers will brighten her day (although she won't be home to see them).

Ask her what she wants? Thats what i do. My mom will let me know if she needs something for the house whether its an item or something needs fixing. And usually, we make dinner or take her out.

Yes, she loves cooking. She'd much rather cook at home than go out to a restaurant.

My mother has been gone for 15 years and HATE Mother's Day. It is a sad day for me every year.

that's a really nice idea.
I have to say- when you take the stress of gift giving out of these occasions, the day becomes so much nicer. And more about the meaning behind it. Family, being together, etc
Best thing we ever did was stop exchanging gifts as adults.

that's a really nice idea.

Yup we haven't exchanged with the adults in the family for years. It is just the kids. My mom gives to all of us for xmas and birthdays and we give to her for xmas but otherwise holidays and birthdays it is no gifts. We usually get together for Father's Day and just have a BBQ and make food and the kids go swimming. Who knows this year as 3 out of the 4 "kids" might be working. Maybe the adults can just chill out and BBQ lol.

Took my mom out for a spa day this week… it was very much appreciated and we both totally enjoyed it. I think it’ll become a yearly tradition now.
