Do I suck it up and get an Air Fryer?
I had one before and I sold it.
However, I will be in temporary accommodation for about a month or two with no working kitchen. They have a kitchen, but it’s just countertop with a few drawers. I have fridge access. After that time, I won’t have a working kitchen installed and that will take time, but I’ll have more access to my appliances.
I basically have a 2 seater car (the backseat is a complete joke). I would like to bring one appliance with me. The rest will be brought when I get an apartment.
I have a crock pot and a sous vide stick. I was thinking of just bringing the sous vide with me, but now I’m thinking I should maybe give an air fryer another chance?
I basically eat chicken and fish with a veggies and vegetarian meals because I have high cholesterol.
Are air fryer meals healthy?

Re: Do I suck it up and get an Air Fryer?
We have an Air Fryer Toaster Oven, and I like it a lot, because we use it for so many things. We used to have an Air Fryer that we loved at the moment, but broke. The one we have right now is more useful and I realized now how limited I was having only the Air Fryer.

I’m not a toaster oven person. How big is your combo Air fryer/Toaster oven? Space is kind of limited for me to bring an appliance.

We have one too - it's the same size as our toaster oven was. We use it a lot... It does pretty much everything.

Re: Do I suck it up and get an Air Fryer?
I was against the air fryer for awhile but now I do admit it's useful. I think in your case it might make sense. We have one that's an air fryer/grill combo so if you want to grill a piece of chicken or fish indoors you ust switch out the plates. It's kind of convenient.
The meals are as healthy as you make them. If you are going to air fry frozen fries and onion rings that are already fried, then obviously no. But you can cook with a lot less oil. I just made a tuna melt in my air fryer and used just a few spritzes of butter spray on the bread and it came out great Most things just need a spray or 2 of oil or cooking spray

Yeah I don’t do fries or onion rings on my own. I basically just want to put a piece of fish or chicken and some veg in. I will use minimal oil. I think I will order one and hope for the best!
I’ll be in army barracks, but I’m in the “VIP” section of them. No one is really in the building unless they are traveling for business (civil service).

We also have a toaster oven style one. We cook a majority of all meats in it, anything frozen, and even dessert. Lots of cook books out there

We never used ours. I found it just as easy to use the regular oven or stovetop. It is big and I found it cluttering.

I also have a small toaster oven style one. I got rid of my old basket one and only opted for another when our toaster oven broke. I basically only use it for the kids nuggets and grilled cheese. Not sure it would be my choice in your situation. Maybe a single induction burner or a rice cooker with a steamer tray.

I don't have one, but I'm not a fan of extra counter items. If you had one and sold it you know if you liked it or not. It sounds like the crock pot is the better option based on the description. JMO

That's the one we have. I had banished it to the garage when not in use because I despise how it looks on my counter but we ended up using it so much convenience finally won out and I said eff it and we just keep it there now

Never wanted one. Got one on sale with a gift card thinking it would be great to cook nuggets before after school activities and save money instead of going through a drive through. Now I use it daily. I actually COOK in it.

We have an air fryer/toaster, ad LOVE it. I use it for EVERYTHING. I barely use my grill. I love making chicken in it, bacon, veggies. Taste so much better.

I have the ninja xl 10 in 1, it's an air fryer, oven, toaster, reheat, pizza option, etc. It might be a bit larger than you are looking for, but it's a decent size to work with and cooks everything so well. You can cook salmon and veggies at the same time since it has four trays/levels. I do think you need one no matter which one you choose.

Re: Do I suck it up and get an Air Fryer?
Well I got one and it is huge! And heavy! It’s 5.5 liters and it only cost about $80.
I tried it out and it wasn’t bad. It will be really good to make some chicken and put that on ready made salads from Aldi or salmon with veggies. I’ll just put it in the kitchen and label it mine and not to touch it. There usually aren’t many people staying there, so I think it will suit my needs.
Edit: However, I will probably sell it afterwards because it is so damn big. I already have a convection setting on my own and the oven is small to begin with (normal sizes here).

You can also hard boil eggs with no water in the air fryer. DH tried it and they came out perfect

Really? I have one of those egg cookers (worth every penny) and I can see how it would work in the air fryer.
