Problem with new vanity - advice needed!

I just had my bathroom re-done and we bought the vanity from Lowes. Within days, the counter top cracked. Definitely NOT from the install - it happened well after the contractor was done and gone. We purchased the vanity on 10/20 and it was installed about 2 weeks ago. I e-mailed Lowes and Allan and Roth and have not gotten a response from them. How would you handle this from here? The vanity was expensive and there's zero reason the top should be cracked in a matter of days. I'm really upset and want it fixed. Its all I see when I walk into my brand new bathroom Chat Icon

I find that I get the best response when I blow a business up on social media.
Go on Facebook, Twitter etc and make a public post to Lowes about it and how disappointed you are that you did not get a reply.
I did that once with Petro and I got my issue resolved and an apology from a higher up within hours.

Also, did you purchase it in store or online? I'd go back- in person- to the store I bought it in and ask for a manager

If a company is not responding, I would just dispute the charge with my credit card. They’ll handle it for you.

I would go directly to the store to the manager, with photos. I don't like to bash on social media until I have given them a good chance to correct the problem and I think this is something you should address in person. Emails can get overlooked.

Also, I think it is possible this happened during installation. Perhaps it got a stress fracture and it advanced after installation. This happened to us with our hot tub. The crack showed up about two weeks after.

I haven't posted anything online besides this post. I wanted to give them a chance to make it right. I did purchase it online, so I'm not sure how much luck I would have going back to a physical location.

You should absolutely go to a physical location with photos. Loews is Lowes, doesn't matter if you bought it online or not.

Also, your contractor may have inadvertently cracked it during install. It may be too tight against the wall, or if it had to be adhered to the base, it could have been done incorrectly.

Thanks! I'll definitely give it a shot!

As far as the contractor piece - I guess it is possible, I just think its strange that so much time passed before it actually cracked.

P.S. They STILL havent responded.
