Re: Disgusting Cesspools
It's very annoying as we have to pump ours once a year now. It will cost too much to pump the run off one too so we end up just doing the one, once a year.

I’ll never understand why so much of Suffolk is still cesspools. In my town we are sewers . That was one thing I wouldn’t budge on when looking at houses. And now that we are converting to gas, that will be the second thing I won’t budge on when buying again! The oil game is rough

I do balanced budgeting for oil and have the same bill every month for 12 months. No hassle of finding the lowest price and some years I do pay a little more than other people but I don't have to measure how much I have left to call and find places. I now pay $267/month which is the highest ever but the prices all have gone up too.

We do balanced billing as well but that bill was going up by $100 per month
And every year I play the game of back and forth. 2 years ago I was paying $3.49 cap and my neighbor right across the street got $2.99 cap. I was pissed. This year? It was $5.10cap I got them down to $4.89cap but still refuse to pay a $1+ more per gallon.

Natural Gas isn't much better. My dad converted to it a while back and he's paying a lot more for it now than he has ever paid. Everything is insane.

Wow I lived in Suffolk before for 10 years where there were sewers and never once got a bill. I hate the cesspool

Oh yes the Sewer district has been billing us since we moved in. It's not a huge bill, but it's still something

Yes, my bill has gone up by 70% this year here. I might even owe more when they read the meters. The government had to put a “price brake” on heating because of the strong increase and gave us 300 in our paychecks in September and a free month of heating in December.
