Re: Running sneakers...
I could be wrong, but I don't think your sneakers are to blame for shin splints. It has more to do with weak shin muscles and tight calves. Have you ever been fitted for sneakers? Some stores will do it. I got fitted at a Lady Foot Locker once. The girl really knew what she was talking about. I don't know if all of them do it though (or are that knowledgeable). If you run a lot, you're supposed to get new sneakers like every so many miles.
Personally I have no problem with Nike's (but I'm not a big time runner either). That and Adidas are all I wear.
Oh, and check out Road Runner Sports (online). They have good recommendations for different types of feet.

Thank you! I've always had them.. from as far back as playing sports in high school.. when I don't have enough cushion in my sneakers they act up.. the treadmill's hard surface doesn't help either...

Re: Running sneakers...
I'm actually going to head over to a store that specializes in running shoes to find the perfect pair for my foot. They have some sort of program now that can tell you the best shoe to buy.
