Can u use a doula w/ your OBGYN??

I think I'd like a doula to be there to help ME cause I get anxious and stuff, but then I want my dr to deliver... would that work? Anyone know where I can find one?? TIA!

Yes, doula's don't deliver babies, they help support the mother. Check out the Doula Network of Long Island.

Doula's are great. My sister had one with the her last delivery. Her Doula happened to be her friend so price wasn't really an issue. But I heard they can cost a pretty penny and generally not covered under insurance.

I'm using a doula with my OB- I'm delivering at NSUH and I'm taking Bradley method classes.

We'll see if I make it without an epidural...Chat Icon

Not to highjack the thread, but I'm planning on natural childbirth, as well! I'm excited, but I haven't come across very many other preggos who are into it. Good luck!

Thanks!

Yes, I recommend someone- FM me if you would like her name. I heard good things about her but I haven't met her face to face yet for our initial consultation- that will be on 10/3.
