Definitely big fat rollers! Section off dry hair and apply a styling foam, roll it up with fat rollers and blow dry with a diffuser attachment or just air dry and poof - shiny, bouncy lose waves. I love that look. My hair is super curly so it's a pain in the a$$ bc I have to blow dry my hair straight first and then roll it. But it's worth it. After I take the rollers out, I sometimes do touch ups with a fat curling iron. Then I cover my head with a flexible hold hairspray.

I learned from my friend who was a beauty school drop out (seriously). Go to Sally Beauty Supply and get the hard rollers (I like those the best). They come in different sizes. Pick the size you want according to the length of your hair and how tight/loose you want the wave to be. And use the duck bill clips to hold them in place. If you go to Sally they will help you find what you need. They had me buy a styling foam that is typically used for styling african american hair. That's because my hair is super super curly, thick and coarse. But they were right, the stuff I use smells awesome and makes my waves so shinny and smooth!

hhmmm, what is the NYC equivelent to Sally's? I'm not sure. Any good beauty suppy store should have at least 1 person working there that knows what they are talking about. OR ask your hair stylist if he/she can recomend a styling foam or gel to use with the rollers.
