Re: some questions about using OPKs
Yeah- holding it for 4 hours is killer. I found that when I was in the middle of my surge- I didn't need to hold it for as long to get a + result.
From what I understand, the body produces Luteinizing Hormone (LH) during the day, so the best time to test is late morning to mid afternoon. The OPK detects the presence of LH (which indicates O is likely to occur with the next 12-36 hours).
I've tried to stop drinking liquids at about 9 am and usually pee it out by 10, THEN try to hold it until 2.

Re: some questions about using OPKs
I test around 1ish in the afternoon, right before I go to lunch at work- so yes, that means that I have to bring them to work, but I really dont care. I used to test first thing in the morning, but I read a bunch of places that said you should test in the early afternoon (i think its supposedly because the LH surge starts in the morning, and if you test first thing, it could be too early, and if you test the next morning, your surge could be over). Usually if I pee first thing in the morning, I try to hold it in until I test. Hope this helps!!! Baby dust to you!
