Yams? is it true?

Hi All,

I have a question and maybe you can shed some light on the answer for me.

I am looking to start ttc in a few months. I would love to have twins. However, twins do not run in my family (they did run in my husbands a while back, but I don't think that matters on bit). I don't want to take any fertility drugs, but I was just reading that eating Yams increases your chances of conceiving twins? Does anyone know if this is true? Did anyone try this? Just curious. I think it's interesting.

I also read that eating dairy increases your chances (I already eat a lot of dairy)....

Thanks for any info!

And also found:

Eat Yams
Yams, a type of sweet potato, have also been linked with multiple births. A tribe in Africa whose diet consists mostly of yams was recently found to have exceptionally high rates of twins and multiple births. Yams are thought to contain chemicals that stimulate hyperovulation, increasing your chances of conceiving twins.

Re: Yams? is it true?

I just read this, it is true...certain places where the diet was a large amount of yams they had alot of multiples.
It increases egg production./
Now, I also reasd this years ago and ate yams until i turned yellow and nada.

of course, years later and ivf and I now having twins--and no yams!
