Here's MY reason why I prefer online OVER meetings...
I did meetings a couple years ago for about 6 mths. I workout a lot. When I workout the SCALE STOPS or moves VERY SLOW. I joined around the same time as another woman. She lost twice as much as me, but never looked it. I on the other hand looked like I lost a lot of lbs, but didn't. I lost the inches.
I found the meetings to be VERY discouraging because I wasn't the one getting   because the scale wasn't moving. I wasn't getting the "awards"...instead I got the questions like "What are you doing? Are you staying true to plan? What did you eat this week?"
Needless to say I quit.
Now I've been doing online. I LOVE it! Sure...I put in my numbers and I might get a  for 3 mths because the scale isn't moving, but it's a lot easier to take then .
Anyway...everyone loses weight differently. This time I'm not going to let someone beat me down because the scale isn't moving. It's a life long change that takes longer some people more than others.
Today, I FINALLY broke the plataeu that I've been battling for MONTHS! It was only by POINT 2LBS, but I broke that PITA because I didn't quit. I know that if I was doing meetings...I would have quit a LONG time ago!
~WW Message Boards are AWESOME support! Anyone can join whether you go to meetings or do WW Online. I find the boards to be more beneficial with tips, etc. than meetings. Not to mention they're available 24/7.
Please keep in mind EVERYONE is DIFFERENT... There are those that LOVE meetings because they need to WI in front of people or like the group support. Both work...it's just something you need to find out for yourself.

I joined a couple of weeks ago and I love it too!
I've been doing weight watchers for a few years now (on and very off ). Group meetings are great! You get lots of support there, a lot of people you can relate to and some great tips. BUT, I found myself not wanting to go if I had a bad week. One week turns into two, two turns into three and then it would turn into this vicious cycle of not going back until I couldn't take it anymore and had to rejoin. Also, I'm not the best at journaling.
Now, I find myself going online constantly to update what I've eaten mostly because I enjoy it. Also, although I have all the books, it's less of a chore to just do a search and find what you're looking for.
The best tool though is the recipe builder! I can now use regular recipes by just putting them into the builder and adjusting them if need be. Then it gets stored and you can search for it and add it to your daily plan. It's great!
Okay that's enough from me. No I do not work for ww.

Wow thanks Azad and Lori for all the info!! I actually dont go to the meetings anymore because Im on and off also, but WW online does sound good. I may check it out.
Great job Lori on breaking the plateau!!!

I'll be honest, I'm more motivated now that I tried it. I think there is a coupon code to try it for only like 13 bucks (I didn't realize and signed up for 3 months for 65).

I do meetings and now have the monthly pass, so I also use all the online stuff too.
I love my meeting and have made friends at this meeting, which is a first. I was usually a loner and didn't really talk to other people much in the meeting. I think meetings only help if it is a good dynamic with both the leader and the group. I have been to some really awful meetings and those were the times I stopped going.
I love the online stuff because I find it easier to journal online, look for recipes and they have message boards, which I have found helpful for when I have questions.
