What gym are you a member of?
I used to go to Amritraj (SP?) in Bayshore. I can't afford it anymore, and I hated their class schedules.
I was thinking of looking into Bally's.
Any suggetsions? I live in Deer Park, and work in West Babylon. I would love something as close as possible to my house.

I used to belong to Lucille Roberts...they have a lot of classes and equipment. New York Sports Club is good too!

LA Fitness in New Hyde Park, love it
I think they have one in Farmingdale. I am not familiar with Suffolk so I dont know if thats close.

I was a member at Hauppauge Sports but just cancelled cuz we will be moving to Medford. I don't know if I am even going to bother joining a new gym. I have been running and walking and not going to the gym anyway so I will see how it goes until it gets cold.

Its a combination--the price is great (although they keep raising it every year) but the one I go to (they are all very different) is not maintained very well. The locker room always seems filthy and the lockers are falling apart, and no one wipes down the machines after they use them. I have asked about that and they just told me there is nothing they can do to enforce that (which is not true, becuse other gyms do!) The machines are ok but not great; usually there is something broken though! I love the classes that they offer, but they offer the same thing at the same time two to three days a week, so if you want variety you have to be very flexible with your schedule.
Its not the greatest, but if you can't afford the expensive $90 a month gyms, then it works. Hope that helped!
