anybody else have hypothyroidism?
I was diagnosed 3 weeks ago. My levels were sooo far out of the normal range. Anyway, I've put on 10 pounds since June, and it doesn't seem to be stopping...HELP!

my mother has it and a friend has Hashimoto's (sp?) which is another thyroid issue. My mom is on synthroid, my friend has to see an endrocrinologist and nutritionist often.
The synthroid has been very successful for my mom.

How did u know you had it?
I went for blood work to check out my hormone levels. My gynocologist just happened to have it checked, cause my periods are very irregular. My levels were so out of the norm. Hashimoto's is also and underactive thyroid, and it an autoimmune disease (this is what my doc thinks I have) Your body actually produces antibodies that attack your thyroid. I go back to the endocronologist at the end of this month. I'm afraid my clothes aren't going to fit me when I go back to work in September.
