i have a question on colors

of a quilt im going to make for my aunt..she is doing a winter theme room in her upstate home..(not xmas) she has light blue walls..for the sky..and she used a tan print for the bedding to act as bare branches in the winter..can anyone think of any other colors of winter that i can incorporate in her quilt that would represent winter? thanks

White and Silver for snow and ice, perhaps some accents of evergreen for pine trees to go with the brown. And multiple shades of blues.

In small amounts you could include a little red mixed in with the greens, like red berries on a holly bush, or red cardinals sitting in the branchs. You mentioned tan but not darker browns like the bark of trees or bare ground so you could include darker shades of browns. The light yellow could be weak winter sunlight. Since it's a winter theme and she's only got two primary colors - blue and tan - I'd be careful of introduing too many other shades unless it's a slight accent color in the pattern. I'd sugges staying with:

Shades of blue, from medium to light
Whites and silvers
Tans and browns
Touches of dark green
A bit of red as an accent in the green or brown if it's a small part of the pattern.
