Ear Infections
Hi my near 8 mo daughter, has had 7 ear infections in seven months. She has just recently gotten Tubes put in her ears on Nov 3. Well This past week She caught bronchitis, and gotten ANOTHER ear infection (in both ears again) Shes been bleeding alittle from them and different drainage is coming out. We have gotten drops for her ears.. but has anyone ever heard of getting tubes and getting another ear infection?

Re: Ear Infections
My son got tubes when he was 2, after several ear infections and allergies to most antibiotics, which made the infections very hard to treat. He never got another ear infection while the tubes were in. However, my daughter had 6 ear infections before her first birthday, and got tubes the week of her first birthday. She has gotten two ear infections similar to the one you describe with the tubes. The ped. explained that the tubes do not completely prevent the infections, but they make the ears drain so that all of the "yuck" comes out of the ears immediately. I had the same concern, but two ear infections in almost a year is certainly better than her track record without the tubes!

Re: Ear Infections
This happened to my neighbors son and it turned out that he pushed the tubes out. I would call your pediatrician.
