Snoop Dogg Arrested
Snoop Dogg was arrested for "drugs and guns" on Tuesday night after performing on The Tonight Show in Burbank, CA according to Burbank Police Sgt. Kevin Grandalski. It was his second arrest in the city in just over a month.
As Snoop Dogg was leaving the NBC studios, Burbank police served him with a search warrant as part of their ongoing investigation regarding his arrest at the Burbank airport Oct. 26, Sgt. Grandalski tells Us. The search warrant allowed the police to seach his person, car and house. As a result of the searches, Snoop was arrested in connection with four felonies - felon in possession of a firearm, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana for sale and for possession of a false compartment in his car.
He was in the process of being booked late Tuesday and expected to post a $60,000 bail, Sgt. Grandalski tells Us. Two other males in the vehicle were also arrested.
Snoop Dogg's lawyer Donald Etra tells Us, "We will examine the charges very carefully to see if they have any merit. Obviously, as any citizen charged, he stands innocent of all charges."
The 35 year old, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, is out on bond in two separate incidents involving guns and drugs at Los Angeles-area airports.
He was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm by a felon after his Oct. 26 arrest at the Bob Hope Airport in Burbank. He posted $35,000 bail and was scheduled to be arraigned on Dec. 12.
In addition, Snoop Dogg surrendered to authorities at the Orange County Jail and was booked Nov. 6 on a felony count of possession of a deadly weapon after officers at John Wayne International Airport found a collapsible baton in his carry-on bag on Sept. 27. If convicted in that case, he could be sentenced to three years in prison, according to the county district attorney’s office. He was released after signing a promise to appear in court.
A sheriff’s department spokesman said at the time that Snoop Dogg was preparing to board a flight to San Francisco along with two bodyguards when the baton was found during an X-ray of his bag. He told deputies the baton was a prop for a video. The baton was confiscated and Snoop Dogg was allowed on the plane.
