i would just tell her the truth, that you are actively ttc, and she can do whatever she wants with that information. if it plays into her decision to have you as a BM, so be it. it's her choice, and at least you were up front about your plans. jmo.

Coming from someone who it took almost a year to get my BFP- no one and NO ONE would ever make me not TTC and if I was asked of such a thing, right then and there I would have told her sorry I cant be in your BP but I will help you if you need it and come to your wedding.
I know you were probably shocked and didnt know what to say, and sorry you had to go through that.

First of all...you shouldn't have to justify yourself.
I don't think it is necessary to tell her you are trying.
When you do get pregnant, if she has a problem with it, she's not a good friend.

thank u all for your words of encouragement. i guess I didn't realize how selfish it was for her to say such a thing, but i really think she is in a totally different mind set that me.
Definitely not stopping TTC---i guess if it's meant to be If I can attend---it's in FL, then of course i'll be there, but if not, which would mean i just had/having a baby, then that is what is meant to be.
We usually speak once a wk or so, so i'll see if i'll mention something vague----i'm not one for confrontation.

I can't believe the nerve of some women!! i have heard this a few times recently, things like, If anyone gets preggo they are out of the party. I would never put off TTC for someone's wedding  You should tell her you are not on BCP and you can't guarantee anything either way. I swear, the people that say these things, would be the first to drop everything if they were TTC, Gross.

Honestly, I would back out of the wedding. Her request was rude and unrealistic.
Even if you were on BCP what if you accidentally became PG. Would she ask you to get an abortion?
While I understand her reasoning, it is totally unrealistic to put your life on hold for almost 1 year. That's a very long time.

I think your friend has a lot of nerve....I'd continue going on with what you planned, if you are big preggos & can't fly & can't be in it, then so be it. I had my best friend drop out for that very reason (she lives in TX, I was disappointed but understand) and I had another girl 6 months preggos. I wouldn't say anything now...

I cannot belive how self-centered a remark that was. I think you're handling the request pretty well - I would be so angry! She has some nerve and needs to realize her wedding is not the end-all. I would do what is best for YOU and let her know that maybe your intentions do not fit nicely with her plans. Maybe she would want you out of the wedding....
