Newbie at Christmas cookies - gingerbread or sugar?
I recently realized that I love gingerbread. I was going to try to make gingerbread cookies with my new cookie press that I've never tried. But I don't know what to put on top of them?
Would you like gingerbread or sugar cookies instead? What do you put on top of them to decorate them?
I know these are silly questions but like I said, I'm new at this.
Thanks!

I love gingerbread and I decorate the tree with them--it smells great. I made a martha stewart tree on year with stars with sugar cookies. It depends if they are for eating, then u can use just the icing with the butter and confectioners sugar and water and pipe icing on cookies... If u are not eating them use the silver balls--dragees' i think its spelt. depending on where u live, chocolate duck in farmingdale has great decorating things, ex/ use icing then colored sugar dust.... if u make stars---ice with thin white confectioners sugar icing then use diff colors and drag with toothpick. good luck!

I would put sprinkles and stuff on top of sugar cookies, but I'd do icing on top of gingerbread. I love making gingerbread men. You could even top them with some dried fruit.
