okay I'm having so much trouble deciding. I know I really want Milan and Florence, and venice too. but i'm dying to see the amalfi coast as well.
For those that have been, what would you say were the best cities?
TIA

Re: Italy
I've been to Venice, Milan, Rome, Piza, Siena, Florence, Naples, and Pompeii.
I'd say my favorites are Venice, Rome, and Pompeii.

Re: Italy
My family is from the Amalfi Coast, so maybe I"m biased....but it really is so beautiful and picturesque there.
I've been to Rome, Florence, Venice, Pisa, & Sienna.....and I have to say that Venice & the Amalfi Coast are my favorites

Re: Italy
I loved Rome... I liked seeing all the ancient sites. Also Pompeii. Venice was cool but a day there was enough for me.
I really really enjoyed the cruise we took in June. Here are a few of the pics I posted (on the bottom of page 1). http://www.lifamilies.com/chat/topic-53300-1.html

Re: Italy
It really depends on what you like. I really wasn't that impressed with Rome, other than St. Peter's, the Vatican, and seeing the Coliseum. Other than that, I thought it was incredibly boring and some of the people were rude. Maybe if I had been more prepared (mapped out more places to go) I would've had a better time (me and a friend of mine went spur of the moment.) P.S. Beware of the "Gladiators" by the Coliseum. If you get your picture taken with them, they not only try to grope you, but they'll ask for money! And they're basically homeless men in cheap costumes STIN-KY!
If you like art, definitely go to Florence. I loved it.
If you're a city person, Milan is the place to go. Personally, Milan was my favorite city. The people were so nice! And you have to see the Duomo - it's HUGE! I think it's one of the biggest cathedrals in the world. Def see The Last Supper.
Venice was beautiful but very pricey. I was there for one day/night and that was enough for me.
I haven't been to the Amalfi coast yet.
I wish I could go to Italy again right now!

Re: Italy
I definitely love Florence. Venice is an unusual one-of-a-kind place. I studied there in college but def don't think you need more than 2 days there. Capri is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. If you like history, Rome is amazing!
