What bottles did you use?
I have a question. I am planning on breastfeeding exclusively until I have to go back to work, and then pumping and having the sitter and my husband feed the baby with bottles when I am not able to breastfeed once I'm back to work. I had origionally registered for the medela pump in style pump, and read that the dr. brown's bottles attach directly into it so I registered for them. But I heard that the dr browns bottles are a pain in the neck to clean and are unnecessary if your baby isn't a colic baby. So I'm wondering what you all did as far as bottles and pumping. What bottles did you find worked best? Should I register for something different? I'm really confused about this. Everyonek eeps telling me something different.

Re: What bottles did you use?
I LOVE the Dr. Brown's bottles. I didn't wait to find out if my baby was colicky or not, I just got them right off the bat. They also prevent spitting up. I don't think Jake has spit up more than once. I got so many recommendations from other people for them. Yeah, they are a little bit more of a pain to clean but I still think it's worth it. My SIL says she throws them in the dishwasher so I might try that soon too.

Re: What bottles did you use?
I use Dr. Brown's bottles. Yes, they take a little longer to clean but it's worth it. Nate wasn't colicky (sp??), but he does spit up alot (more of an issue with the formula). I tried using the Advent Naturally bottles for a little while to see if there was a difference. He spit up less when we used the Dr. Brown's bottles. I think they really do help with the amount of air the baby breathes in.

Re: What bottles did you use?
Would it be stupid if I registered for both the Advent (my friend recommends these) and the Dr. Browns? A starter kit of Each? I'm also reading that the "Playtex Premium Nursers" are really good beacuse the baby doesn't have nipple confusion.

No it wouldn't be stupid.... I registered for 3 different sets - Dr. Brown's, Advent and Playtex. I got all three types for my shower. I started out using the Dr. Brown's and then tried the Advent. I liked brown's better, so I exchanged the playtex at BRU for more Dr Brown's.

Re: What bottles did you use?
I used Avent bottles. I also used the Pump in Style and when I did, I would store BM in those little BM storage baggies. SO you just pour it in the bottle when you are ready to use.

Re: What bottles did you use?
I'm going to use Playtex disposables with the drop in liners...I like that I can get all the air out since both DH and I have digestive "issues" and the less gas the better....but I'll BF mostly.

Dr. Brows. They are the best and eliminate all the air. Connor never has gas pains.

Re: What bottles did you use?
I EBF then used playtex ventaire bottles with their natural latch nipples which are suppose to be close to the breast. This is the only bottle I could get my son to take to. But every baby is different. You may have to try a few to find the one that works for you. GOOD LUCK

Re: What bottles did you use?
Thanks everyone. I think I am going to leave the playtex nurser on my registry, because they have like 220 reviews and it comes with an attachment so you can pump right into the bags. But I think it's true. Everyone tells me something different, so it must depend on the baby. I'll just probably have to use trial and error to get it perfect once my little one is here.
THanks for all of your input!

Re: What bottles did you use?
I would get the Dr. Brown's!!! They are amazing. The cleaning is not that bad and you get used to it after a while.
