Gallbladder
Did anyone else have trouble with their gallbladder after giving birth? I just found out that I have gallstones and they might need to take out my gallbladder. I hear this is common after pregnancy. Has anyone else heard this?

Re: Gallbladder
I had gallstones a few years ago and had my gallbladder removed.....
probably from a build up of a poor diet as a kid and being on the pill for so long.

I had it removed this past Dec after having pancratits and being in the hospital for a week. It was caused my gallstones.
I had it out becasue I did not want to go throught it again. It was a very quick surgery with a very quick recovery. If you have any questions please well free to Fm me...
I had this becasue i gained alot when i was preganant and lost alot really quickly. It was also from all my years of yoyo dieeting...

Re: Gallbladder
I had mine taken out after I gave birth I started getting pains in my back and cramps I thoguht at first it was just pains of evverything going back to normal inside. Then when AF started to come back I thoguht it was just cramps cuz I would get the pains around the time AF would be coming so I ignored it, also I would get pains in my lower back but also I thought this was do to me starting to wear heels again cuz the pains were never constant and would always come during these times.
Finally one nite I was in so much pain I couldn't take it I went to the doctor the next day they did x-rays and sent me to get an ultra sound and I it was gallstones. The dr told me it was common after giving birth.
If you have any questions or need anything feel free to FM me

Re: Gallbladder
Thank you all for sharing, I cant believe how common it is. I will be going to the doctor Thursday and will find out if I need surgery.

Re: Gallbladder
good luck...it's one of the most common surgeries and it's done laprscopically. The scars are so minimal.
Just ...stay away from high fat foods right now...that can trigger an attack (which AIN'T FUN)

Re: Gallbladder
definately stay away from fatty foods, the pain was worse than labor (and that was without an epidural). If you have to have surgery, the non-emergent ones are a breeze!!
