I'm not a fan of logo bags, LV or otherwise. I think if it's a high-end bag, it should look like it's top quality without having a logo all over it to prove it.

Re: What's the appeal...

I like the GG and the LV for logo bags. Not into the coach or dooney at all. I have one backpack from Dooney from 3 years ago (it's a light color and the DB doesn't stand out too much - I like it in spring).

I think LV is timeless and chic. Because it's been around so long I've heard comments that it reminds people of "old lady bags". I think the new shapes and cuts give some bags a younger feel- especially w/ the ones designed by MJ.

in logo covered goods such as LV, Gucci, Coach, Fendi, Dooney & Bourke, etc.?

I'm not trying to start drama, I'm just curious as to why one would opt for an item with logos as opposed to one without?

I agree with you....Sorry ladies but what annoys me the most is those DARN Bebe shirts anything that screams bebe all over it!

I like the way some logos look, like the LV print, but not Christian Dior. just a preference.

Side note, a lot of people can't fathom spending so much on "something that isn't leather", but I love the LV coated canvas. It is SO durable, you can wipe it clean, it's waterproof and really light to carry. I've really abused my speedy and the only parts that show wear are the leather trim and the hardware.

I like the look of leather, but it wears down pretty fast being schlepped on the subway and is heavier than I like.

The only logo bag I like is LV. I find it timeless and chic. All my other bags are no name and plain.

Ditto for me.

Ditto for me as well.

Same here...I just got and LV bag and I love.

My Chanel bag is the quilt pattern with one set of the 2 C's on it.

My Gucci bag is a hobo with one set of red and green stripes with one set of 2 G's on it in hardware.

I also have the classic Fendi and a Burberry.

I love all my bags because 30 years from now they will still be in style.

I won't spend money on a trendy bag...such as the denim LV bag. It won't be in style for too long.

I never understood this either. I never liked the Bennetton shirts or tommy Hilfiger shirts - and the idea of juicy on my butt makes me fall to the floor in laughter!

I just want a well made bag. I can handle a small bit of logo - but it has to be 10% or less.

what does this have to do with a bag with logos?

we are talking about bags- not clothing- I am sure 90% don't wear tanks with the bebe logo on it- or any other logo for that matter across our chests

Re: What's the appeal...

i think for certain things such as bags, its worth it to invest in a "good" one such as LV or gucci, not necessarily w/logos all over it, but I think this is one area where you get what you pay for.
I still have my mother's LV & gucci bags from the 70's that are considered "vintage" now...
so I know if Im buying, say, a Chloe bag thats totally ridiculous in price to some, i consider it an investment, because its something that will never go out of style, and I can pass it to my daughters in 20 years!

BTW i thing those Bebe shirts are sooo tacky, also!

I agree.. and I am not saying this to be rude or start drama in anyway but I personally wouldn't sport a bag with a pad lock on it. Just not my taste. Different strokes I guess Chat Icon

That's ok! Chat Icon

I'm not saying I wouldn't buy a bag with logos.

I was just wondering if you girls find the actual logos aesthetically pleasing. Maybe you see it more as a "pattern" and not so much a logo.

For some reason I don't mind LV mono trunks, but I don't particulary care for it on handbags.

Re: What's the appeal...

Not a fan of anything with a logo on it. I am a plain girl. Give me the essentials and I am happy. I do, however, want a Vera Bradley bag so bad, but she doesn't have her name stamped all over it. Also, LV bags look to plastic-y to me. I like some coach, but the plain ones, not the ones with the c's all over them.

Actually, same here. I never thought of my LV bag has having a logo all over it. I just never saw it that way. I do see Guess ones standing out more to me as G logo's and that I don't care for. I guess the LV looks more like a pattern to my eye then the big G's or C's of coach.

Re: What's the appeal...

Status symbols...

The only logo bag I own in is a Fendi and I don't use it anymore bc I am sick of it and feel like its out of style.

I do like Gucci and some LV bags. Call me materialistic but I do feel pretty darn good when I am toting an expensive bag.. Silly I know, but true! Chat Icon
