I decided I don't like the name DH wants...
He wants to name the baby (if it's a boy) Jackson Charles. Now today at Jeremys party my DH was talking to my cousins husband and told him the name. My FIL then buts in and says "we are naming him after DH's uncle" which is SO not the case. Yes, his name is Jack but that was NOT DH's inspiration. He just liked the name. I don't want my son "named after" him because he is not the most upstanding citizen, although a nice man, just not what I want for my child.
I am so stuck on a boys name. His middle name will be Charles, Jeremy has my dads name and this baby will get my FILs name. The names I like have been taken by family (Alex, Andrew, Nicholas and Ethan). I need a name that goes with Emma and Jeremy... the more I think about it I don't want to name him Jackson

I think most all names go with Jeremy and Emma since there is no rhythm or anything.
Anthony Lucas Peter Thomas Chase (a name I love) Jared Toby Alec Scott Logan Joseph
I do understand why you don't want the baby "named" after anyone that you did not intend. I don't think it hurts anyone though if you really love the name and DH's uncle is really nice. You could give the baby Charles as a first name as well. What about DH's name? Has the uncle been told that the baby is being named after him by FIL? That could get sticky if you change it.

Re: I decided I don't like the name DH wants...
I feel your pain. DH likes this middle name that happens to be a cousin's name and another cousin's middle name. [each spelled differently] I have pleaded with him to use an alternate that is similar because of what you said, people will decide we are naming the baby after their kid. Something I would just never do, I want my kids to have their own identity. Men! I told him I would mull it over for a few more months and then decide which I liked better...I'm gaining the weight, I'm out of shape, I'm pushing it out...I'm naming IT.

What about Joseph? Same initals and Joseph Charles is a really nice name. I love the name Joesph (and the nickname Joey is so cute for a little boy) but it is DH's friend's name, so we could never use it.

I cant do Joshua because that is my best friends a hole ex and I just cant do it.
We thought about Lucas... that is a definite possibiliity!!!
Ryan, Jarod, Jake, Joseph were all taken by family as well. Peter is my dads name and Jeremy middle name. The other names don't jump out at me as saying "NAME ME THAT"
I dont want Charles as a first name because as FIL has said... Chucky isn't his favorite. I really don't like it.
I don't know what to do

Charles does NOT = Chucky to me. I would hate that too!
Maybe you need to see the baby to name him. Are you sure it is a boy? Maybe no name jumps out because the baby is girl? I can't remember if you found out the sex or not.

FIL is Charles and it became Chuck or Chucky. Charles as a 1st name is just not an option.
I like to be prepared either way. I don't want to feel the pressure of being in the hospital and saying his this is Boy F for the first days of his life. And, no, we don't know what we are having. If it's a girl it will be Abigail Lynn or Kaitlyn Lucille.
