Okay....
The last 2 weeks I have been working out and eating really well. I saw the nutritionist today and she weighed me. I have gained 4 pounds, yes, 4 pounds in the last 2 weeks since I have been eating well and working out. I am SO frustrated

Re: Okay....
Don't be sad, it could be so many things. Go by inches, when you are working out at first then by pounds. Remember muscle weighs more or you could be retaining more water, or something. Just keep up the good work and I'm sure you'll she the results you want!

MUSCLE.....MUSCLE....MUSCLE....
Muscle weighs more than fat. If you are working out you probably gained some muscle.

Re: Okay....
Have her calculate your BMI as well. You can weigh more but in reality have less fat........

Does your nutritionist measure your body fat each visit? I go to a nutritionst and every week he takes my weight on the scale and also my body fat using a machine.
There are weeks where I will lose a lb of body fat, but the scale will show I gained two pounds.
The scale is not an accurate representation of your total body. It is important that you are losing fat. The scale measures everything, including water.

Re: Okay....
when you first start workinf out- you also retain more water in your muscles- esp if you are sore
I don't use the scale anymore- I use the jeans test- an old pair that doesn't fit well anymore works great
I try them on once a week to see my progress

I don't believe in scales either - if my clothes are getting tight then it's time to hit the gym harder and watch what I eat - when I can fit back into clothes that I feel comfortable in then I know I am doing well. For me that is much more motivating than a bunch of numbers bc you actually FEEL and SEE the progress.
