Until they are on complete solid foods, which I would go by what the pediatrician says

The doctor hasn't mentioned anything about table foods. The only thing he did say was that I could start giving him pastina.

I would have moved onto chunky food at around 7 months, at 9 months I would already have started the kid on table food, at 1...he feeds himself. I am sick of feeding this kid!!!

every baby is different. By 9 months Sydney was off baby food. I have 2 friends whose babies are almost a year, and they still eat tons of baby food, so whatever works for your child.

I was just telling DS that the other day...
It does smell like cat food. I said to DH "i'm surprised our cat doesn't come running whenever I am putting that into the baby's dish"...

Ive always said this too. The tiny jars of meats are nasty. I have never used them. I went straight to the stage 3 chicken/beef combo things.
as far as solids, Im a big scaredy cat, you know me, so I take it VERY slowly with introducing solids, even cheerios. my fear of choking has gotten MUCH better with toddlers, but with infants, im STILL a chicken.. we'll see how I go.. you have to do it at your own pace.

I know what you mean girl. I feel the same way about giving him foods like cheerios and even the puffs for fear of choking. Last night I was eating a peach and I gave a little piece and I do mean a little piece to Matty. People would laugh at me if they saw how small it was. They'd be like "is he actually going to taste anything"...LOL
