Question for you ladies.....
If I wear a black dress what color stockings do I wear. I have a closed toe balck shoe and the dress is mid calf. Can I get away with a nude color or should I just go for the black? I am not tan at all. Also we are going to a company dinner for DH, every year they have this big dinner at a fairly nice banquet hall. Last year I got all dressed up (cocktail dress) and I felt over dressed but this year I just got a basic black dress, still dressy but I want to look nice, hubby is wearing a suit. Please let me know. Dress is similar to pic below, but the bottom goes straight across, it is not split. Image Attachment(s):

Are you wearing black shoes also? ETA: open toed / peep toe / high heel?
Regardless, I would go for a "suntan"/nude color (unless you are wearing open toe or peep toe in which case I would buy sunless tanner ASAP and not wear any!)!.
I don't really like black stockings for some reason. I feel like maybe they remind me of a funeral.

ITA I know that black stocking are in fashion now but I am not a fan.
